SafeSource Direct, Ochsner Health's medical supply company, has earned government approval for its surgical N95 respirators.
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recently approved the masks, according to a June 20 news release from the Broussard, La.-based supplier.
New Orleans-based Ochsner helped launch the personal protective equipment manufacturer in 2021 as hospitals struggled to stock medical products during the COVID-19 pandemic.
SafeSource Direct, which employs 560 people, expects to produce more than 18 million masks by the end of 2024, according to the release.
