The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston will consolidate its sterilization and supply chain department into a single facility, reports The Post and Courier.
Four things to know:
1. MUSC is working with a private developer on the 106,500-square-foot facility, which will cost $28 million to build.
2. The building will serve as a consolidated service center for all of MUSC's facilities in the tri-county area, saving the system an expected $14 million in annual operating costs.
3. The facility will also serve as a sterilization center for all of MUSC's medical equipment.
4. The building is slated for completion in the second half of 2019.
