Medline said a three-year campaign that included a $1.5 billion investment in distribution centers and manufacturing capabilities has added hundreds of new jobs and expanded the medical supply maker's footprint.
The Medline Healthcare Resilience Initiative, which ran from 2018 to 2020, spanned dozens of Medline divisions. Medline released results of the initiative May 3.
Three things to know:
1. Investments in distribution centers, manufacturing and IT upgrades helped create about 8,500 jobs. Most were in construction, while 2,000 were in distribution.
2. The initiative created eight new distribution centers — with seven set to open this year — and nearly 150 manufacturing expansion projects.
3. Medline saw a 102 percent increase in IT jobs over the past three years with a focus on data integrity.
