Lupin receives FDA approval for tablets to boost wakefulness

Baltimore-based Lupin Pharmaceuticals earned approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its armodafinil tablets.

According to a news release, the tablets are intended to improve wakefulness in adults with excessive sleepiness caused by various sleep disorders.

Armodafinil tablets are the generic equivalent of Cephalon's Nuvigil tablets.
