Genesis Automation USA, a St. Petersburg, Fla.–based provider of healthcare supply chain services, entered into a group purchasing contract with Irving, Texas-based Vizient.
Through the deal, Vizient members will have access to increased savings on Genesis Automation's supply chain management technology.
Genesis Automation's automated supply management system allows clinicians to track supplies and devices throughout every phase of internal distribution in the hospital. The system also allows hospitals to link unique device identifier data through its EHR.
"This collaboration will lead to savings and improved patient care and safety in a multitude of hospitals across Vizient's membership of academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute healthcare providers who access the Vizient contract portfolio," Guillermo Ramas, CEO of Genesis Automation USA, said in a statement.
