FedEx is building a new 240,000 square foot distribution center on a 32-acre plot of land in Miami Township, Ohio, reported ABC 22.
The new facility represents FedEx's national network expansion efforts to deliver more packages faster. The carrier has opened 12 new distribution hubs and expanded or relocated more than 500 local facilities since 2005, according to the report.
While FedEx already runs a facility in Vandalia, Ohio, the Memphis, Tenn.-based company said the new distribution center will help meet customer demands in the area.
Sound barriers will border two sides of the facility to minimize noise pollution and planning documents show more than 450 parking spots on site.
The center is slated for completion in July 2017.
