Descartes Systems Group, a Waterloo, Canada-based logistics technology provider, acquired Datamyne for $52.7 million, reports DCVelocity.
Here are four things to know.
1. Datamyne, based in Miami, offers cloud-based trade data content solutions for customers to analyze trade activity, according to the report.
2. The company collects, organizes and commercializes logistics trade data for more than 50 countries. The data helps customers shape their global marketing, prospecting and sourcing strategies, according to the report.
3. Descartes plans to incorporate these capabilities into its suite of supply chain visibility tools through the acquisition.
4. The deal marks Descartes' sixth acquisition in two years. In 2016, the company purchased supply chain software provider Appterra and order fulfillment software vendor Pixi Software GmbH, according to the report.
