Dublin, Ireland-based Covidien has acquired Morrisville, N.C.-based Sapheon, a developer of venous disease treatments.
"Sapheon will significantly enhance Covidien's global peripheral vascular business by providing additional treatment options for physicians and their patients who suffer from [chronic venous insufficiency]," said Brian Verrier, president of peripheral vascular businesses of Covidien, in a news release.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
