Apple plans to set up a distribution center in India to streamline supply chain operations, reports Economic Times.
Here are three things to know.
1. Apple hopes the distribution center will help ensure common pricing for offline and online sales and prevent products from selling out at the retail level, according to the report.
2. The facility, which will be located in a neighboring city of Mumbai, represents Apple's first distribution center in India.
3. DB Schenker — one of Europe's largest logistics companies and Apple's global logistics partner — will own and operate the facility.
