A new osteoporosis injection, an expanded label for Keytruda & more: 4 recent FDA approvals

Four drugs or medical devices approved by the FDA since April 1:

1. Evenity, a monthly injection, is approved to treat osteoporosis is postmenopausal women at high risk of bone fracture.

2. Dovato is a two-drug, fixed-dose complete regimen for HIV patients who have not received antiretroviral treatment.

3. The FDA expanded indication of Ibrance, a metastatic breast cancer treatment,  to include male patients.

4. The FDA expanded the label for Keytruda, a cancer immunotherapy drug, as monotherapy for the first-line treatment of patients with stage 3 non-small cell lung cancer who are not able to receive surgical resection of chemoradiation.
