9 hospitals, systems earn top Vizient award for supply, sustainability excellence

Vizient has recognized several hospitals and health systems for  supply chain performance and environmental sustainability.

The Vizient Supplier Diversity Excellence Award honors hospital members for commitment to inclusivity in their supply chains and boosting local economic growth. Awardees are selected based on the percentage of their Vizient spending on minority-, woman-, veteran-, LGBT- and disabled person-owned businesses.

Top performers by cohort are: 
Comprehensive academic medical center: University of Maryland Medical System (Baltimore) 
Large, specialized complex care medical center: Novant Health (Winston-Salem, N.C.) 
Complex care medical center: Memorial Hermann Health System (Houston) 
Pediatric cohort: Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Vizient's Environmental Sustainability Excellence Award recognizes members for their efforts in promoting human and environmental health through responsible purchasing. Rankings are determined by adherence to Vizient's Environmentally Preferred Purchasing Standard and commitment to the White House Health and Human Services Climate Pledge
