3 quotes + takeaways:

1. Data governance needs to be owned by health system leadership and viewed as an important component of organizational culture to support better data management and, ultimately, a better patient experience.

"If you want your culture to be one of transparency and one where people want to share, that has to be modeled from the top down. Data governance is key to this. We have an entire data governance committee that works with people in the community to find out what people want, and they bring all of this to the C-suite." - Medical Director with an 11-hospital East Coast health system

2. Healthcare professionals may have concerns and hold some misconceptions about data privacy.

"Not everyone who works in healthcare understands data governance and security processes. It's a real disconnect." - Medical Director with an 11-hospital East Coast health system

3. The digital patient experience — and the healthcare staff experience — can be enhanced through effective data management.

"There are so many possibilities to enhance the digital patient experience when you bring the right data to the table. We can not only give better recommendations to staff, but we can also make it easier to help patients navigate the healthcare ecosystem."  - Jake Spencer
