The Association for Community Affiliated Plans has launched the Center for Social Determinants of Health Innovation, according to a June 30 press release.
The center plans to offer a range of resources, including market research, policy insights and educational events to help health plans and policy makers address the social issues that affect health and move forward to ensure more equitable health plans. It will work with safety net health plans to identify the best practices for healthcare leaders.
"Safety net health plans have worked in communities across the United States to address factors that shape their members' health for decades," Margaret Murray, CEO of the association. "This new center creates unique opportunities to showcase what works, share that knowledge with others, and support a healthier future for people with low incomes, whose wellbeing has too often been held back by their environment."
