Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, Calif., has changed its name to Dignity Health Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital to more clearly reflect its affiliation with the San Francisco-based system, according to a Union report.
The hospital affiliated with Dignity Health, then known as Catholic Healthcare West, in 1996 and adopted the Dignity Health logo last year. The new name is intended to emphasize the relationship between the hospital and the health system. "This primary brand of Dignity Health makes the identification and connection to a larger system of services even stronger for doctors, employees, volunteers, patients and the community," Debbie Plass, SNMH vice president for marketing and business development, said in the report.
The hospital is still only affiliated with, and not owned by, Dignity Health.
