Nashville, Tenn.-based Saint Thomas Health announced the renaming of its five member hospitals in Tennessee to more clearly reflect the system's shared mission, its size and the collaboration among its hospitals.
Here are the five name changes:
• Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville is now Saint Thomas West Hospital.
• Baptist Hospital in Nashville is now Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital.
• Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro is now Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
• Hickman Community Hospital in Centerville is now Saint Thomas Hickman Hospital.
• The Hospital for Spinal Surgery in Nashville is now Saint Thomas Hospital for Spinal Surgery.
In addition, Saint Thomas Health's joint ventures and its physician practices will be unified under the Saint Thomas Health banner, according to the news release.
