La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago is planning a $16 million expansion project, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.

The hospital will build a 13,000-square-foot outpatient clinic with 18 exam rooms to replace an existing 10,000-square-foot clinic with 13 exam rooms. Ground breaking is planned for August with a completion date of May 2013.

La Rabida will also renovate the existing clinic to provide more space for pharmacy, lab and rehabilitation services. The renovation is slated to begin in June 2013 and is expected to be completed in three months.
