Jefferson Regional Medical Center Changes Name to Jefferson Hospital

Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills, Pa., part of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network, has changed its name to Jefferson Hospital, according to a TribLIVE report.

The hospital began as South Hills Health System in 1973 following a merger between Homestead Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital, and changed its name to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in 2002. Now, as part of Allegheny Health Network, it is Jefferson Hospital.

The hospital is still transitioning its signage to reflect the new name, according to the report.
