Indianapolis-based IU Health announced IU Health Bloomington (Ind.) has partnered with Bloomington-based Monroe County YMCA to expand services in the community.
Under the partnership the, the new 60,000-square-foot Northwest YMCA, which is currently under construction, will designate 4,000 square feet of space for IU Health to provide physical therapy, orthopedic services, sports medicine and health and wellness services.
The new partnership expands an existing relationship between the hospital and the Y, and is designed to increase efficiencies and improve access to care. The two organizations are also developing health screenings, support groups and educational programs at the new Y, which is expected to be completed in 15 months.
