July Issue; CEO Strategy Roundtable
July issue. The July issue of Becker's Hospital Review includes the 2014 edition of 100 Great Community Hospitals, a list that highlights hospitals in suburban and rural locations with minimal teaching programs. The hospitals on this list, whether independent or affiliated with a larger system, have each been recognized for quality and service to their communities. We are pleased to share them with you.
The issue also contains relevant feature stories, including "The Outpatient Payment Rate Debate: What Lower Reimbursement Would Mean for Hospitals," which explores the argument surrounding reducing Medicare reimbursement for hospitals' outpatient departments to the same levels as ambulatory surgery centers. The issue also features "Integrated Chaos: Health Systems and the Aftermath of Defensive Acquisitions," an article profiling health systems that have aggressively acquired hospitals or physician practices and are now seeing internal problems as a result.
In the July issue, you'll also find stories about innovation in community hospitals, price transparency tools, CEOs' career advancement and the ramifications of a Priceline.com for healthcare. We are also pleased to share a CEO roundtable about population health with three leaders from hospitals or health systems in some of the United States' healthiest counties, as ranked by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
