The District of Columbia beats out all 50 states for offering affordable healthcare to its residents, according to personal finance website WalletHub.
WalletHub compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia across 43 different measures of healthcare cost, accessibility and outcomes. Measures related to cost included average monthly insurance premiums, average hospital expenses per inpatient day at community hospitals and share of adults who do not see physicians due to cost.
