More than half of the community hospitals in Nevada and Texas are for-profit facilities, according to data compiled by KFF.
KFF's data is as of 2022 and comes from the American Hospital Association's annual survey. The data is for community hospitals, which represent 85% of all hospitals in the U.S., according to KFF.
Here are the nine states where at least one-third of hospitals are for-profit:
1. Nevada: 56.5%
2. Texas: 51.1%
3. Florida: 46.9%
4. Arizona: 43.7%
5. New Mexico: 41.9%
6. Louisiana: 41.5%

9. Alabama: 33.3%
