Arlington, Va., is the healthiest city in the U.S., according to the American College of Sports Medicine's American Fitness Index rankings.
The organization compiled data to assess the overall fitness scores for the 100 largest cities in the U.S. The ranking considers resources available to support individual fitness, such as recreational facilities, city walkability and air quality, and roadblocks to fitness. Rankings also consider health indicators such as percentage of the population with chronic disease, fruit and vegetable consumption and regular exercise.
