West Virginia has the highest obesity rate in the U.S., according to a study from the personal finance website WalletHub.
For the study, WalletHub compared 50 states and Washington, D.C., assessing the obesity of adults and children. The assessment was based on the most recent data available from the CDC and the Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University.
The 10 states with the highest obesity rates, according to the study:
1. West Virginia
2. Mississippi
3. Alabama
4. Iowa
5. Oklahoma
6. Louisiana
7. Kentucky
8. Arkansas
9. Ohio
10. South Carolina
