University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics' Revenues Top $1B

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is due to report revenues of more than $1 billion for fiscal year 2011, according to a Iowa City Press Citizen report.

The reported revenue is part of a preliminary financial report that will be presented to Iowa's Board of Regents tomorrow, according to the report.

The $1.03 billion in revenue indicates a 9 percent increase over last fiscal year's revenue. UIHC's operating margin for FY 2011 was 5.9 percent. The health system's financial increases were principally due to larger patient volumes, according to the report.
