TrustHCS, a health information management, compliance and revenue cycle consultancy firm, will use the ICD-10 training curriculum developed by the American Health Information Management Association to educate clinical coders, according to a release by TrustHCS.
The AHIMA curriculum focuses on ICD-10 preparation, training and assessment with an overview of ICD-10. Because ICD-10 will require greater foundational knowledge in the biomedical sciences, the curriculum focuses on anatomy and physiology, as well as pharmacology and medical terminology.
"Thorough and timely training will be the lynchpin of ICD-10 success for healthcare providers," says Torrey Barnhouse, CEO of TrustHCS. The company is planning a free webinar in the coming weeks to explain more about the educational offering.
"This new program makes it possible for HIM professionals to benefit from AHIMA's training, together with other value-added opportunities from our authorized resellers," says Rob Nelson, senior vice president of marketing and strategic business development for AHIMA.
