Board members of Bamberg (S.C.) County Hospital are in the process of selling off the bankrupt and shuttered hospital's assets to creditors, according to a Times and Democrat report.
Bamberg County Hospital closed in 2012 after experiencing financial difficulties. A private equity firm attempt to buy the hospital in the summer of 2012, but that deal fell through.
Hospital board members and Centurion Service Group of Chicago agreed to a deal, in which CSG would purchase the hospital's equipment and furnishings, according to the report. Officials at Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America also said they are interested in possibly setting up an emergency room at the Bamberg County Hospital site.
