New Hampshire Pushes Partnership Exchange as Deadline Looms

New Hampshire is considering a partnership-style health insurance exchange with the federal government that would co-design and co-run the online marketplaces for individual and consumers to buy health insurance under the federal health law, according to a report by the Boston Globe.
The state's lawmakers already passed a law prohibiting a state-run exchange, so the other option available to New Hampshire is an entirely federally-run exchange. Partnership applications are due to HHS Feb. 15.

No matter which model New Hampshire chooses, federal regulators will maintain the website, host a toll-free hotline for customers, manage the grant and subsidy distributions for the site and design the calculator customers will use to calculate plans total cost and their eligibility for financial assistance.
