The fiscal court and board of health of Knox County, Ky., have agreed on a funding plan for the beleaguered Knox County Hospital in Barbourville, Ky., according to a report by WYMT-TV.
The health department will give 1.5 percent of its tax revenue to the hospital for two years beginning Jan. 1, raising an expected $300,000 to $400,000 per year for the bankrupt hospital placed into court-receivership last year, according to the report.
The county fiscal court also hopes to do away with an ambulance tax and shift some of the library tax to the hospital.
