A Circuit Court judge in Kentucky has ruled a lawsuit backed by Tea Party members may advance against the state's Medicaid expansion law, according to a report by the Courier-Journal.
Judge Phillip Shepherd ruled the lawsuit brought forward by Tea Party activist David Adams pertained to a "genuine controversy."
A spokeswoman for Gov. Steve Beshear, a Democrat who supported the expansion of Medicaid to an estimated 308,000 additional Kentucky residents, said the administration will defend the Medicaid expansion.
