Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital's total revenue was $1.02 billion for fiscal year 2010, up from $967.2 million for fiscal year 2009, according to a Tampa Bay Business Journal report.
Despite the increase in total revenues, the hospital experienced a slimmer operating margin of 3.8 percent, compared to a 5.2 percent margin in FY 2009. High labor costs, including salaries and wages, contributed to the decreased operating margin. Tampa General also reported a smaller gain from operations of $9.2 million, compared to $43 million in the previous fiscal year.
