The Chicago Sun-Times reports HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today will announce her approval of Illinois's proposed health insurance exchange, which would be built and run in partnership between the federal government and state entities.
Illinois lawmakers have stated they will seek to take over full operations of the exchange sometime after the first year, according to the report.
The online health insurance marketplaces established in each state under the federal health law will be open for enrollment in October, with plans going live at the start of 2014.
