CMS recently announced there were no significant error scenarios during its National Version 5010 Testing Week, which ran from Aug. 22 to Aug. 26.
During the week, 1,252 Medicare fee-for-service providers conducted testing with Medicare administrative contractors using the Version 5010 format that all covered entities are required to use starting Jan. 1, 2012. The providers submitted a total of 67,782 test files.
After the testing week, 26 percent of the providers stated they were currently in "production status" with Version 5010, and another 42 percent expect to be 5010-ready within the next month.
