Health insurer CIGNA's second quarter earnings rose 39 percent, reporting consistent membership growth and lower healthcare claims, according to a company news release.
For the three months ended on June 30, 2011, CIGNA reported a profit of $408 million, up from $294 million from a year ago.
According to the release, CIGNA's consolidated revenues increased seven percent to a total of $5.5 billion.
