California Hospital Association Sues Over Medi-Cal Cuts

The California Hospital Association has filed a complaint against the state and HHS to block a proposed 10 percent cut to provider reimbursements under the state's Medi-Cal program, according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report.

The cuts, which were proposed earlier this year as part of the state's budget, were approved by HHS last week. According to the CHA, the cuts are in violation of the federal Medicaid Act. Hospitals say the cuts could lead to spikes in charity care and financial troubles for their facilities.
