Arkansas Names New Medicaid Director to Oversee Program Overhaul

Andy Allison has been named the next director of the Arkansas' Department of Human Services' Division of Medical Services, effective Dec. 5, according to report by The Republic.

Mr. Allison, who currently serves as executive director of the Division of Health Care Finance for the Kansas Department of Health, will replace Gene Gessow, who resigned last month.

In his new position, Mr. Allison will oversee the state's plans to switch from a fee-for-service to bundled episode model. Arkansas received federal approval in May to develop the changes.
