Adventist Health in Florida Unveils Plans for $500M Investment in Tampa Bay

Adventist Health System, based in Orlando, Fla., is planning to invest approximately $500 million in former University Community Health, which it acquired a year ago, according to a Tampa Bay Business Journal report.

Since the acquisition, UCH has been renamed to Florida Hospital Tampa Bay division. Adventist Health's investment plans include a new emergency department for Florida Hospital Tampa, formerly University Community Hospital. In addition, the health system plans to open Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel next year; recruit talent for the hospital division; rev up its partnership with USF Health, particularly in cardiovascular care; and launch a multi-million dollar advertising campaign, according to the report.
