Last week, HHS doled out $67 million in grants to more than 100 navigator organizations to help people enroll in the health insurance exchanges, which go live this October.
Nine hospitals and health systems received awards from the federal government to help their local populations apply and learn about coverage in the exchanges, which are part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Here are the nine hospitals that received navigator grants. Organizations are ordered by dollars received.
• University of Mississippi Medical Center (Jackson) — $831,986
• Health and Hospital Corp. of Marion County (Indianapolis) — $590,985
• Mercy Hospital & Medical Center (Chicago) — $452,590
• Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center — $401,281
• Ascension Health (St. Louis) — $368,389 for services in Arkansas and Kansas
• Randolph Hospital (Asheboro, N.C.) — $352,320
• Genesis Health System (Davenport, Iowa) — $265,713 for services in Iowa and Illinois
• Sinai Health System (Chicago) — $157,271
• Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center — $124,419
