Seven hospitals and health systems have received credit downgrades in the past 30 days, according to a report by HFA Partners.
The hospitals receiving the credit downgrades include:
• Anderson Hospital (Maryville, Ill.) — from Baa2 to Baa3 (Moody's)
• Dickinson County Healthcare System (Iron Mountain, Mich.) — from Baa3 to Ba1 (Moody's)
• Lower Bucks Hospital (Bristol, Pa.) — from Ca to C (Moody's)
• MetroHealth System (Cleveland) — from A2 to A3 (Moody's)
• Palomar Pomerado Health (Escondido, Calif.) — from AA to A+ (Fitch)
• Swedish Covenant Hospital (Kerrville, Texas) — from BBB to BBB- (Fitch)
• West Penn Allegheny Health System (Pittsburgh) — from BB- to B+ (Fitch)
In the same month-long span, one hospital received a credit upgrade from Moody's. Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., had its bond rating go to A2 from A3.
