39 Statistics on Moody's A-Rated Hospitals

Having an investment-quality credit rating helps hospitals and health systems when they need to borrow money, and having an "A" rating is a stamp every healthcare organization should strive to obtain.

Moody's Investors Service has 10 levels of investment-grade long-term ratings, ranging from a high of "Aaa" down to "Baa3." Many hospitals and health systems sit within the three subcategories of "A" ratings: "A1," "A2" and "A3."

Here are 39 statistics on various hospital metrics from Moody's. Note: All data are medians from 2011 and are for only the three subcategories of "A" ratings. Moody's data reflects standalone hospitals and single-state health systems in its portfolio.
