New Mexico to Join Other States in Publicly Reporting Infections

New Mexico hospitals will be joining the ranks of other states that are publicly reporting the rates of healthcare-associated infections, according to a news report by New Mexico Independent.

The data that will begin appearing on the state's website will come from 25 hospitals that are volunteering to report their rates of infection. The website will begin reporting the rate of infection by facility starting July 2011. New Mexico aims to expand public reporting of the rate of HAIs in efforts to create more transparency about infection control and hospital safety.
