Kaiser Permanente is launching several programs and initiatives to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations, the Oakland, Calif.-based organization said June 8.
Kaiser's healthcare footprint spans eight states, making it well-positioned to support President Joe Biden's goal to vaccinate 70 percent of U.S. adults by July 4.
The healthcare company said it is committing $10 million in grants to community-based organizations to promote confidence in vaccines and increase access and has already invested $25 million in nearly 200 community-based organizations to support vaccination efforts.
Kaiser also said it's launching a sweepstakes program open to all Kaiser plan members and anyone age 12 and up who's been vaccinated at the health system. One thousand people will receive health-focused raffle prizes, such as gym memberships, wellness retreats and healthy home meal deliveries.
Other initiatives include a social media campaign to target people ages 18-30, community messaging and education efforts, and the publication of a vaccine confidence toolkit.
