Nursing home salaries have increased by 3.75% to 5.12% in the last year, a recent Hospital and Healthcare Compensation Service report found.
The "Nursing Home Salary & Benefits Report" report, published in July, surveyed 914 skilled nursing and long-term care facilities across the country. The report includes salary information for at least nine positions, data on facilities such as bed-size, revenue and state. It also includes turnover rates, shift differentials and benefits as of March 2024.
The report found nursing home administrator's average salary was $137,744 in 2024, with a tempered annual rise of 3.8%. Directors of nursing had the next highest income at $117,754.
The pay for nursing positions saw a moderate rise with registered nurses making an average hourly rate of $39.74, licensed practical nurses making $31.21 and certified nursing assistants making $19.81. However, compared to 2023, all nursing positions saw a drop in pay raise. CNAs saw the greatest decrease, going from 9.66% in 2023 to 5.12% in 2024.
Among nursing positions, certified nursing assistants saw the greatest raise in 2024 at 5.12%, compared to director of nursing which saw an increase of 3.75%.
