Several European nations were ranked among the most healthy nations in the world by Bloomberg's Healthiest Country Index. The U.S. ranked No. 35.
The 2019 index, published Feb. 24, ranks 169 countries across several factors that contribute to overall health, including life expectancy, while imposing penalties on conditions that harm a person's overall health, like tobacco use or obesity. The index also accounts for certain environmental factors, like access to clean water and sanitation.
