RWJF seeks population health ideas from providers for $6.6M research initiative

As part of a new vision the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation announced in 2014, the health-related philanthropy program launched three new national funding programs, one of which is now accepting submissions for research topics, according to a recent Health Affairs Blog post.

The funding program — Evidence for Action — will award roughly $6.6 million in research grants during its initial three years.

The program is now accepting rolling submissions for investigator-initiated research topics and budget requests for innovative ideas that aim to advance population health and health equity across ethnic, racial, geographic or socioeconomic circumstances.

"[RWJF] expect[s] research funded through the program to provide knowledge about what actually works to improve health and reduce inequities," according to the blog post. "We are also interested in the development of new metrics or measures that can be used to assess health outcomes."
