Missing CDC employee's family ups reward to $15k

The family of Dr. Timothy Cunningham, a CDC employee who has been missing for more than three weeks, increased their reward for information regarding his whereabouts to $15,000 Tuesday, reports Fox5 Atlanta.

Dr. Cunningham, team lead for the CDC's division of population health, was last seen leaving work Feb. 12. Before he left the CDC facility, Dr. Cunningham spoke to a supervisor about why he'd been passed over for a promotion a week earlier. He also called in sick to work Feb. 8-9 and told colleagues he didn't feel well when he left on Feb. 12.

Police believe Dr. Cunningham made it to his Atlanta home after leaving work, as all his personal belongings were at the house, which was secure, except for a few open windows on the second floor.

"The most unusual fact, in this case, is that every single belonging that we are aware of was located in the residence," Atlanta Police Maj. Michael O'Connor said, according to Fox5 Atlanta. "So his keys, cellphone, credit cards, debit cards, wallet, all of his identification, passports — anything you can think of, we've been able to locate."

Dr. Cunningham's family partnered with Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta to offer the $15,000 reward for information that results in an arrest and indictment in connection with the case, according to the report. Police told The New York Times they have not found any evidence of foul play in the ongoing investigation.
