Baltimore Orioles' player, wife partner with University of Maryland Children's Hospital

Baltimore Orioles' first baseman Chris Davis and his wife, Jill, declared their intent to pursue a closer relationship with Baltimore-based University of Maryland Children's Hospital Tuesday, according to The Baltimore Sun.

The couple will serve as ambassadors for the hospital and help raise awareness for childhood illnesses while promoting the hospital's role as a leader in pediatric disease research and its commitment to providing care to members in the community, according to the article.

The Davises will also donate two dozen specialized rocking chairs to the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, as well as gifts for the hospital's annual Snow Pile event, which provides families of hospitalized children the opportunity to participate in holiday festivities without the financial burden.
