CVS Health is investing $9.2 million in a 41-unit affordable housing complex in Washington, D.C.
The company is working with affordable housing nonprofit NHP Foundation and Legacy Real Estate Development, according to a Dec. 1 news release from CVS Health.
The complex will be constructed in Washington's 8th Ward and will include studio, one-bedroom and three-bedroom units. Nine units are reserved for homeless individuals or those in need of mental health resources, while nine are reserved for income-qualified artists.
The district's poverty rate is 5.9 percent higher than the national average, according to the news release.
On Nov. 22, CVS Health announced a similar $7.7 million investment in an affordable housing project in Tampa, Fla.
