Yale med school, health system roll out Connecticut's 1st mobile pharmacy

Yale Medicine and Yale New Haven Health System, both based in New Haven, Conn., have launched Connecticut's first mobile pharmacy.

The operation, called InMOTION, will offer clinical services alongside retail pharmacy offerings, according to a July 11 news release from Yale Medicine. Patients can receive vaccinations and wound care in addition to addiction and mental health services.

"Health inequities are a longtime barrier to access that Yale Medicine and Yale New Haven Health are deeply committed to helping remove throughout the communities we serve with innovative initiatives like this," Margaret McGovern, MD, PhD, CEO of Yale Medicine and chief physician executive of Yale New Haven Health System, said in the release.

Connecticut became the first state in the U.S. to legalize mobile retail pharmacies in 2023.
