Vizient, Fresenius Kabi to supply 6 critical care drugs

Vizient signed an agreement Nov. 21 with German drugmaker Fresenius Kabi to supply six critical care drugs through its Novaplus pharmacy program.

The six drugs include propofol, an anesthesia drug manufactured by Fresenius Kabi that is sold as Diprivan. The other drugs are protamine, phenylephrine, oxytocin, thiamine and magnesium sulfate.

The drugs are the first critical care drugs added to Novaplus, a program intended to offset drug shortages by better anticipating demand.
