The 20 most expensive drugs in the US in 2020

Amryt Pharma's drug, Myalept, used to treat lipodystrophy, topped GoodRx's list of the 20 most expensive drugs in the U.S. for 2020 with a list price of $71,206 per month. 

GoodRx, an online drug price comparison platform, excluded drugs that have to be administered by a healthcare provider and obtained typical fill quantities from drugmaker websites to compare the monthly prices. 

Many of the drugs on this year's list are the same as in 2019, but the most expensive drugs are even more expensive now. Last year's most expensive drug was $52,322 per month.

The 20 most expensive drugs based on their monthly list prices:

  8. Juxtapid — $44,714 (Amryt Pharma)

  9. Cinryze — $44,141 (Takeda)

  10. Chenodal — $42,570 (Retrophin)

  11. Gattex — $40,450 (Takeda)

  12. H.P. Acthar — $39,864 (Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals)

  13. Tegsedi — $34,600 (Akcea Therapeutics)
